For those of you reading this, what follows is the treatment plan
info for my current medical issues. There is alot, lol, but I hope this
path will end where it is supposed to, with total body health!!!
I had my treatment plan appointment last night with Dr. Jacobs at the Cole Center. It was enlightening and awesome. Its so wonderful to have a doctor actually listen to you and tell you what the course of action is and the intended outcome. There are some things that we are going to do right away and some things later. I dont know that I entirely understand everything that she said, but heres to me attempting to explain it!
The first course of action that she started last week was to change my thyroid medication to armour instead of the synthroid I had been taking. I didnt really notice any difference, but that could be because I began the GF/Soy free diet around the same time.
I have noticed increased energy, a moderate decrease in joint pain, but I still have the issues with joint pain, skin dryness, and loss of hair.
Yesterday she started me on amino acids, which is a form of neurotransmitter therapy. Neurotransmitters are responsible for all sorts of things, but stabilizing them (without prescription drugs like prozac, ritalin, etc) is necessary to prevent issues. Its also a formal weight loss program, bc it affects your metabolism. The good part of this is that I should look and feel better!!! This therapy also reduces cancer rates, disability, infections, and leads to a longer life expectancy. All good things!!!It also increases adrenal function, which in my case has been poor!!!
I have been ordered to continue the GF/SF diet, and to follow a strict way of eating, which includes eating protein with any carbs, and lots of fruit and veggies. Basically, eat healthy!!!
In a couple of weeks they will repeat my blood work to see how things are going re: vitamin d levels and thyroid functioning. Also at the time they will do a celiac panel and a toxic metal screen test. This test identifies environmental and genetic toxins within my body and their levels. It also gives us a huge picture of why the thyroid isnt working, and what is causing all the ruckus.
At that time they will also scheduled Low Dose Allergen therapy which is basically like allergy shots, but with a homeopathic dose. They identify what your body is allergic too, basically what is causing my auto immune disease, and then you are injected with small amounts of that to restore your body's healthy response to itself.
In the near future I will also have acupuncture and some other treatments to ensure that we have solved the mystery of what exactly is going on completely and hopefully, I will be OFF PRESCRIPTION THYROID meds!! Any of you who know me, know that I hate taking any prescription medications.
All in all I dont have anything negative to say about the Cole Center. They are truly amazing, and for those of you who think I have drank too much of the holistic kool aid, let me know what you think about that six months from now!! I cannot wait to see what effects this has on me, and hopefully will fix all this craziness inside of my body.
WOOHOO!!
